seasons considered in every garden

Salt Meadow is a residential landscape studio serving Long Island. We shape gardens around coastal light, local growing conditions, and the architecture of each home.
Our work moves easily between clean modern lines and abundant, naturalistic planting—always with a clear plan for how the landscape will mature.
Modern estates, intimate courtyards, coastal planting, and layered perennial gardens.
We walk the property, listen closely, and study the light, soil, architecture, and existing landscape.
We develop a clear spatial concept, material palette, and planting strategy tailored to how you live.
We coordinate installation details and guide the garden toward the layered character envisioned.
Salt Meadow works on residential properties throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties. Coastal wind, salt spray, sandy or heavy clay soils, and mature tree cover change from one town to the next, so every plan starts with the conditions of your own site.
We design gardens across Nassau and Suffolk counties, from North Shore towns such as Roslyn, Manhasset, Oyster Bay, and Sea Cliff to the North Fork, Shelter Island, and the Hamptons, including Southampton, Bridgehampton, East Hampton, Sag Harbor, and Quogue.
Every project begins with a walk-through of your property. We look at light, soil, drainage, views, the architecture of the house, and how you want to use the space, then follow up with a proposed scope for the design phase.
Yes. Much of our work is near the water, so we favor salt-tolerant natives and adapted perennials, grasses, and shrubs that cope with wind, sandy soil, and summer drought once established.
Yes. We plan hardscape and outdoor rooms together with the planting so materials, circulation, and garden structure read as one landscape rather than separate projects.
Late summer through winter is ideal. Design work done in the off-season lets installation start in spring or early fall, which are the best planting windows on Long Island.
